In the screenshot it looks like you didn't set the text size. You might have an error in the css. That will cause that to happen.

You also need to add the style options for the logo. Look in basic options at the bottom you'll see how to add an option to style the logo text.

Take a look in one of the styles I have to download. Search the templates for textLogo. You'll see where to place it. It has to be put in multiple spots.

Yes you have to edit the page template and add css to extra less.

Check widget_members_online template. Might need to merge the teamplate.

I'm not familiar with the slider. Can you post a link to it so I could take a look at it? Not sure why it wouldn't work. The only template that is changed is pageview and that is only to add the copyright and new content wrapper. Everything else done with css edits in extra.less.
